JPE Media AcademyGrounded in the IPAR Method™

JPE Media Academy

Complex information shouldn't stop with the people who understand it.

JPE Media Academy prepares journalists, researchers, educators, communicators, and institutions to translate research, data, policy, and subject-matter expertise for public understanding.

This is where expertise learns how to travel.

The translation gap

Publication is not the same as understanding.

Our curricula are grounded in the IPAR Method™ — Issue, Policy, Analysis, Resources — a structured methodology developed through years of applied journalism, research translation, and public-interest communication.

Through working labs, professional education, and institutional training, participants learn how to preserve the depth and credibility of complex information while making it meaningful and accessible to the people it was ultimately created to serve.

Our foundational methodology

The IPAR Method™

IPAR is an interpretive and communication framework — not a decision-making system. It gives teams a shared, repeatable way to move from information to meaning.

Compassion Reporting: Empathy in Journalism, the foundational text of the IPAR Method

About the founder

The foundational text behind the framework.

The IPAR Method™ was formally codified and published in 2023 by Nia Jovan Andrews, MJur, under Jones Publishing & Enterprises. The workbook serves as the foundational source material for JPE Media Academy curricula.

The methodology was developed through years of applied work with the kinds of information communities are routinely expected to navigate: municipal records, public health data, research findings, policy documents, and other forms of institutional information.
